🌶 take re: birdsite and mastodon 

One of the reasons people tend to go back to birdsite and not stick around on Mastodon is the human brain failing to quickly shift gears away from a platform that's dopamine based.

All that dopamine? Suddenly poof. "OK what now? I guess I should open birdsite."

@ru WRT arrivals from Twatter, I've noticed the big shock is that there isn't a single, central corporation taking care of you. Finding herbalists, or old car enthusiasts, or whatever--is a process.

So long as you don't mind ads and you stay within the lines they draw, the user experience is superior.
